Sunshine Home is the story of three sisters and a brother who where sired by different fathers and a common mother. The mother sought to live with a man who can provide the brood and shelter. Alas, destitution provided them maltreatment instead.
Sunshine Home is licensed and accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development(DSWD) as a Child-Caring Institution. It was officially opened on June 19, 1988 and is now on its 22nd year of operation.
Sunshine Home is located on a one-hectare lot in Barangay Cabawan seven kilometers away from Tagbilaran City. It is a one-storey residential-type structure made up of concrete materials.
It has a spacious living room, a dining room, kitchen, a prayer room, an isolation room for children who are sick and four bedrooms.
A very spacious area with flowers and vegetables garden surround the Home. A playground is provided for the children to play. Trees grow along the pathway to provide a child-friendly atmosphere.
Another residential-type structure was built adjacent to the original building. It serves as a Training Center for the children and out-of-school youths to learn vocational skills for future income-generate the activities. A room is also provided as a office for the Administration Staff. And a extension within the building has been added to serve as a reception area for guests and patrons who visit the Homes.
Due to the need for more rooms to accommodate more wards, a third residential-type building was constructed and added to the Sunshine Home Compound.
